That’s exactly what Project O₂ is doing — a pioneering initiative that uses drones to plant forests three to five times faster than traditional methods! Their goal? To return to nature what rightfully belongs to it and ultimately reduce CO₂ emissions.
The key advantage of drones is their ability to plant in hard-to-reach or completely inaccessible areas, which are often degraded due to fires, windstorms, soil erosion, and other ecological disasters. In precisely those places where nature needs help the most, Project O₂’s drones can act quickly and efficiently.
How does it work?
No shovels, no endless digging — just smart technology! Drones equipped with special seed launchers deploy SeedBombs — balls filled with carefully selected seeds that start germinating with the first rain. This method not only accelerates the reforestation process but also ensures that the new forests are more resilient and biodiverse — exactly the kind our planet needs.
What’s particularly interesting is that Project O₂ uses exclusively native seeds — those already adapted to local conditions. This ensures healthy growth and the natural regeneration of forest ecosystems. Additionally, the innovative SeedBomb formula protects the seeds from wildlife, ensuring that each deployed ball has the best chance of growing into a mighty tree!

In addition to developing innovative reforestation methods, Project O₂ regularly conducts concrete forest planting projects in which everyone can participate:
Support the afforestation of Vukovar! — This initiative helps restore forest areas around Vukovar using advanced drone technology.
Support the restoration of Slovenia’s forests — Slovenia’s forests, affected by natural disasters, need help to recover and continue providing a home for numerous plant and animal species.
Planting takes place in spring and autumn, and each planting requires 1,000 vouchers, covering an area of 10,000 m². By purchasing a voucher for €15.00 (including VAT), you support reforestation and receive a thank-you note, progress updates, and an annual report on the condition of your reforested plot.
Vouchers can be purchased through the O₂ website (https://project-o2.org/) either for yourself or as a gift for a loved one! Additionally, vouchers make an excellent corporate gift or employee present, allowing companies and organizations to actively participate in this green initiative and contribute to sustainability.
Ecology meets smart finance
Even the greenest idea can’t survive without stable finances! That’s why Project O₂ has teamed up with FIRA, a fintech platform that helps users manage their finances simply and efficiently.
Project O₂ has connected its webshop (voucher purchase site) with FIRA to ensure that invoices are automatically generated and sent to customers, enabled through FIRA’s custom API integration for webshops.
